The Village Creates It.
Vinotok is grass-roots and locally co-created. We do not hire a festival into being. We bring it forth together. Village and valley people build, cook, carry, costume, drum, dance, welcome, protect, perform and make the magic. Bring your hands, your heart, your wildness and your willingness. There is work to do, and celebration to make.

About
Much More Than a Festival.
A pilgrimage. A way of life. A shared ethos. A claim for Earth and Community.
What it is
Vinotok is our enchanted Autumn Equinox. It is sacred street theatre, communal myth, harvest, ceremony and wild revelry, rooted in this village and valley and in our courtship and Marriage to the Earth.
Why it is different
Vinotok is not imported into Crested Butte and performed for an audience. It is locally co-created inside the communal circle of a village. The characters, rituals, stories and hi-jinks arise from the people, the elders, the history and the Place Spirit itself. Not commercial. Not outside-sourced. Local. Big Difference!
Why it matters
We are the present, and we are also the voice of our ancestral and communal past. Vinotok honors Earth sovereignty, caring kinship, generosity of spirit, resistance to the consumerist paradigm and the fierce work of keeping our community Wild + Free.
Honor your ancestors. Love your Mother. Marry the Earth. Respect Place Spirit. Be merciful and dance in the streets!
